April 18, 2012......
You know, life is a fragile and tenuous thing. We sometimes take for granted our special gift of being here. At times, it just seems so easy to just carry on with mundane activities, and call it life....but is it? Is there something more that we have missed.

A crazy thing happened to Lou....one day, he was fine, and the next day, he was in a hospital fighting for life. His life. His health. It was a very scary and upsetting time in the beginning, and I gathered family members for support for him and me. All that love pulled him through. Thanks to everyone who wished him well and prayed for him, as everything helped.

He is doing better now, but has a long recovery. Thank goodness, he was fit and took care of himself before this happened. However, he still remains in the hospital, and they say it could be a while, yet.

So back to the beginning....what is life, and do we take it for granted? Yep, sure do. Can it be counted on in a certain way? Nope. Do we want to ensure that things stay the same and can we? No, not even possible. It is one of those things that we cannot predict, or sometimes, not even understand.

Thus, enjoy every day. Do something nice for someone. Keep an open mind and open heart, and surely, you will be blessed.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ November 25, 2011.....
As we are approaching the Christmas holidays, the mood seems to pickup and we seem a bit more joyful. Is it that we like spending money on a gift that we are not sure they will like? Is it the shopping in crowded malls? Is that planning for that special day in the year?
My guess is that it is the gathering of friends and family members whom you may not have seen for some time. It is the warmth and joyful moments through sharing, eating together, and the stories and humour shared.
We are ever hopeful that things will improve, that a bad situation will be made better, that money will drop from the sky and solve some immedite problems.
As we approach that special day of the year, try to enjoy it for all it is worth. Contact that relative or friend that you would like to see and invite them over. Reach out. Many of us wait for the doorbell to ring. Instead, knock on someone else's door.
Put forth that effort to help a favourite charity. If you give just a little, it is multiplied by many small donations from others, and soon many others are helped, too. It is all the season of compassion for others.
Wishing everyone a joyful, love-filled, happy, and grateful, holiday. Yes, be very grateful for what you have. Things always could be better, but they also could be so much worse.
Much good luck!

June 6, 2011.....
Looking through Forever Young's monthly mag, I discover some ads to destinations that I send passengers to, and then, I get out my calculator.
What seems like a deal to Atlantic City by Goodtimes is not so hot......$449 for 3 nights with $95 in coupons. Then, in his website, he is mentioning Philadelphia.....ahhhhh, you kidding me!!! One day down, one day to drive home, one day in Phillie... where is your time in Atlantic City? Too much driving.....not enough relax time! Not only that, but look at what you are getting. $449 - $95 in coupons = $394.
We are charging $609 for 5 nights with $185 in coupons, cruise and extra buffet which nets to $424.........thus for $30 more, you get 2 extra nights with the extras that we offer. Seems simple enough to me to figure out. Ours is by far the better deal to Atlantic City......once you go through the figures.
The next one is DKM which says $30-$40 casino bonus. They have only 4-night trips, so he is charging $389 with let's say $35 bonus = $354.....which is actually a better deal than Goodtimes which has only 3 night packages. However, this is a bare bones package with nothing extra except a trip to Hamilton Mall.
So, there you have it. Check what you buying into, and what are you really getting for your money. Be aware of the wording of the ads, and know what you want. Note that some trips are junkets, but ours is a holiday, and whether you spend your time on the beach, shopping, going to a show, or walking on the boardwalk. That is up to you. Many do like to explore not only the Trump Plaza Casino but other casinos on the boardwalk and at the Marina. I assure you that you will not get a bill after the trip saying you did not play long enough in the Trump Plaza. Will never happen with our company.
Just be knowledgeable for what you are getting. Make an informed choice.

January 24, 2011......
Yes, almost a year since I updated the newsletter. With the start of 2011, I hope to update a little more!
This was a very cold morning at only -22c, and for the first time in a long time, we had to get a boost for the car from a towing company. This is like Northern Ontario weather! I hear it is to improve tomorrow.
So far as we can see, this will be a great year for some of overnight trips from our new 2011 Winter and Spring booklet. Many choices to get on a bus tour this year.
Casinos are still hot and an exciting destination for our passengers. If you did not get our new booklet, please just call and we will forward one to you. Please note that we focus on the Fallsview/Casino Niagara casinos, but we have other casino bus tours overnights, shopping trips - near and far!
Sitting on the rad trying to warm up!
Enjoy every day!

My recommendations are:
a) Use your Players Advantage Club Card everytime...doesn't matter how often you move about.
b) Breakdown large bills for smaller ones. Gives you more chances with different machines.
c) Have a nice meal somewhere in the casino, to make your visit more pleasant.
d) Get a cord put on your PAC card, so you don't lose it. Saves time getting a replacement.
e) Leave expensive jewellery at home. Recently, a passenger lost a diamond ring. She said
that it was the second one that she lost since she lost weight. Another lost one earring
that was "irreplaceable."
f) Dress comfortably. Casual dress is acceptable. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
I covered many wallking miles in the Fallsview Casino Resort. Never did visit the shops.
g) Carry mints or something like that in your pocket.
h) Do not be afraid to ask for a drink from the hostess. That is service is available to you for the price of a tip.
i) Take money that you can afford to play with. You could win or lose, but wins are always great.
j) Enjoy the day!

Much good luck!
Andrea
