When the CNE is in town, you know that summer is winding down. Beautiful summer days will soon turn cooler. So, do not hesitate to get onto one of our casino trips and have a great day!
Just to advise you, that I went on the August 20th trip which included lunch on the Serendipity Princess and a buffet coupon at Casino Rama. I hardly ever go on these trips anymore, but this was my second outting with the Peachfest being the first.
I tried some slots, but just wasn't my day, so I checked the Poker Room. The fellow by the desk said, "I think you are a 2-5 limit player, and I have a seat for you." I didn't say much to that, but bought my chips and took the seat that he held out for me.
Although I started off slow as the cards were not there at first, boy oh boy, that sure changed. I could do nothing wrong. This table was mainly with men and two other women. Honestly, I had the cards everytime, but one time, I only had two pairs, and the fellow at the end thought I had the straight. He looked at me and said, "I know you have the straight," and then, folded. The young Chinese fellow to my left had about $120 when I sat down, but lost it all and bought in with another $100. I started with $80 and cashed out $176. Rather amazing. The young fellow on the end said, "How are you doing that?" after I won so consistantly. I told him, "I have an angel on my shoulder!" When they couldn't shake me out, he would say, I hear the angel's wings. Sure enough, the cards were good enough.
If I had more time, I would play poker more. The last time was in June at Atlantic City.
Wishing you all good luck!
"May an angel sit on your shoulder!"

If you follow my newsletters, you know that I composed a Summer Bucket List....things that I would like to do, accomplish or complete. One of the things on my list was that I would like to take up painting, not barn doors, but on canvas. Many years ago, I took painting classes and enjoyed it. Well, wouldn't you know it! Lou read it and bought a huge 48" x 24" canvas and said, "Paint me a picture!" Woe, I said to myself. I am not a great painter, I just wanted to muddle on canvas. So, now I have been doing some painting on weekends, and I look at that huge canvas, and wonder: What can I possibly put on there that can even been looked at? I know some artists put paint every where on their canvas, then, add a stripe or two.....a masterpiece! Nah, I do not want to do that. So, I am trying to paint a sky that looks like a sky, a tree that looks like a tree, and rolling waves that look real on much smaller boards.
Thus, I've done most of the other things on my summer bucket list, as I have finished my planting in the new garden with lots of perenials. Okay, so I didn't wash the car twice...that is what car washes are for. But this painting thing, well, it is now my challenge to get it done this summer! When it is done, I'll take a photo, and see if it looks decent. Who knows, maybe I can setup a stand with my art on a street corner somewhere on a Saturday! :)
Enjoy the great days of August! Love the green grass this year, which is so much nicer the yellow crunchy stuff that was on the lawn last year.
Enjoy every day! Andrea
June 29-July 30 Trip !
Just an update of my trip to Atlantic City with the bus group JUne 29-July 4, the first ever 6-day trip! It was great, and to have extra days to shop and relax......oh, every kink disappeared. The ocean breeze was wonderful. I have enough negative ions to keep me going for awhile!
For the first time, I entered a Poker Tournament at Caesars. With three tables, I was the only woman, which surprised me a bit. However, I did land on the last table. Everyone got $20,000 in playing chips with the $120 buy-in. The exciting part was when the flop showed three spades and I paired up with 4's and 5's. Two gents on each end were betting, so I figured them each for a flush. The turn was a diamond but not good for any of us, but the raises were there until two of us were all in. The cards were turned over for the three of us. As I saw, one had a King high flush, and the second a 8 high flush. The King high flush was expecting to win. The last card or river card was a five. Oh, my! I had the full house and beat the King high flush. The pot brought me to 54,500. This landed me on the final table as I won a few smaller pots. On the final table, I had Ace Queen in my hand, and lost to Ace King. However, it was a wonderful experience, and I may try it again! Only the top two were paid.
Well, time to get back to work and answer more phones and work on group requests. Have a great day! Andrea

FUEL TAX WON'T AFFECT OUR TRIPS
I just want to mention your favourite topic and mine...........FUEL TAX. I really have no control over this hike in my motorcoach rates, but they are there for certain. Our company will not be charging anything extra for overnight trips such as Foxwoods or Atlantic City, nor will we charge anyone extra for posted day trips at this time.
The rate to the Fallsview and Casino Niagara is posted at $10, and it will remain that rate until the end of June. Group rates given will remain the same.
The whole point of the message is that we want you to book in confidence that we will not be changing the price of a trip, so please book with us! We do not want you to just stay home and worry about Fuel Tax. So, as this is not a worry with our prices, please book one of our great trips.
This is a great time to get a bit of sun, but don't forget the sunblock. The skin you save may be your own!
Enjoy Every Day!
Andrea

My recommendations are:
a) Use your Players Advantage Club Card everytime...doesn't matter how often you move about.
b) Breakdown large bills for smaller ones. Gives you more chances with different machines.
c) Have a nice meal somewhere in the casino, to make your visit more pleasant.
d) Get a cord put on your PAC card, so you don't lose it. Saves time getting a replacement.
e) Leave expensive jewellery at home. Recently, a passenger lost a diamond ring. She said
that it was the second one that she lost since she lost weight. Another lost one earring
that was "irreplaceable."
f) Dress comfortably. Casual dress is acceptable. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
I covered many wallking miles in the Fallsview Casino Resort. Never did visit the shops.
g) Carry mints or something like that in your pocket.
h) Do not be afraid to ask for a drink from the hostess. That is service is available to you for the price of a tip.
i) Take money that you can afford to play with. You could win or lose, but wins are always great.
j) Enjoy the day!
The Fallsview schedule remains the same, and there is no change in pricing. Best deal in town!
Special rate for groups continues. Do call today!
Much good luck!
Andrea
